When do we stop ovulation tests?

Ovulation tests are used daily until a positive result appears, indicating a rapid rise of LH hormone in our body – also known as the LH surge.

Once the test shows positive, there is no need to continue using it for that cycle, as we know that ovulation is expected to occur within 24–36 hours. Since fertilization is possible for about 12 hours after ovulation, the maximum fertility window lasts up to 48 hours from the time of the positive test. These are the days when intercourse with your partner has the highest chances of conception.

If you are using One Step ovulation tests (where results are shown with lines) and wish to monitor the decline of LH, you can continue testing until the result becomes negative again. This usually happens the next or the day after next, depending on your body.

Important:
Correct understanding of the positive ovulation test and following a intercourse plan during the peak fertility days can significantly increase the chances of pregnancy.
